Sisters in Faith, Spirit and Body

Updated: Feb 6

Today, I want to thank Jan, my kidney donor for listening to God and obeying Him 5 years ago. We are celebrating our annivesary today! Becasue of her, my life is enriched and my body is healthy.

I am able to live without dialysis and I have energy to live a full life.

I have celebrated 5 more birthdays, visited Israel, enjoyed 6 additional Christmases and other holidays, taken vacations to visit family, and celebrated my mom’s 98th birthday. I continue to be able to take care of myself and my mom, have quality time with my husband, and our family and grandkids. I am blessed to experience fellowship with my bible study groups and to grow deeper in my relationship with the Lord and to serve my community and my church. I work 3 days a week and enjoy many activities that enrich my life and I hope that I am enriching others lives.

I do not take any day for granted , but attempt to make each day count for good and to show gratitude to God for extending my life with a healthy kidney. He cared enough about me to speak distinctly to Jan, and gave her an obedient heart so I could live a full unhindered life. Each day for me is a miracle and a blessing. I still am amazed that I have my friend's kidney (lil’ Jan) and that she is functioning so well. My doctors are also amazed at my lab work and how well I am doing.

I am abundantly blessed beyond what I could ask or think. Eph. 3:20

Jan continues to do well also and is also very active and is always serving others. Jan is a "one of a kind unique” woman. She gave out of obedience and reverent fear of the Lord - a fear of awe and love for God. I thank God for His Sovereignty and His provisions for me and Jan. I pray for others who are waiting for organs to be donated, for those who donate and for more people to be donors.
